Sixers to sign former Hornets lottery pick Kai Jones
The Philadelphia 76ers intend to sign former Charlotte Hornets lottery pick Kai Jones, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Jones, who was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, will return to the league after being released by Charlotte in October of last year due to unprofessional behavior on social media.
The Sixers will reportedly sign Jones to a 10-day deal as they continue to survive the season without reigning MVP Joel Embiid, who’s been out since January.
The 6-foot-11 Jones would provide an additional body in their frontcourt, which also features Paul Reed and Mo Bamba.
Over 67 games played in two seasons with the Hornets, Jones averaged 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds.
