‘Absolute joke’: Man United fans accuse Elliott of diving for penalty
Liverpool drew at Man United 2-2, with Mo Salah scoring the Reds’ second goal from a penalty in the 84th minute.
The penalty was given for Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s foul on Harvey Elliott. The Manchester-born Anthony Taylor didn’t hesitate to point to the spot and VAR also confirmed it.
However, Man United fans insist that Elliott dived to get the pen.
EastleyGod: “Stupid challenge, but Elliot was going down before Wan Bissaka actually made any contact”
Senior Ordinary: “It really was an outstanding dive. In real time it looks 100% like a pen”
Iamblorclago: “It’s a moronic challenge but it’s also such a dive. Starts to fall and reaches his leg out under AWB and goes down, can’t expect these refs to see that though.”
Nightxu: “Absolute joke. Another massive dive against United getting given a penalty because VAR is useless.”
