Pochettino confirms Chilwell injury blow: ‘Not ready to train’
“We still need to assess a few players like Chilwell after playing two games, Mauricio Pochettino said at a press conference, as quoted by journalist Nizaar Kinsella.
“I think he got a knock in his knee. Today, he wasn’t ready to train. We will see what will happen if he can be in the squad. Enzo has still not arrived [from South America].”
The 27-year-old missed three months of action this season after picking up a hamstring injury in October.
The Chelsea vice-captain returned to the fold in January and played without injuries before missing the Newcastle game on March 11.
Despite that, he was called up by England and played against Brazil and Belgium.
