Chelsea to hire Brentford set-piece coach
The Athletic report that Chelsea will appoint Brentford’s Bernardo Cueva as set-piece coach. The Mexican will lead a department at the club in the future, with more hires to follow.
The 36-year-old is considered one of the best specialists in his field and has proven his credentials with the Bees, who scored 16 goals from set pieces last season.
Chelsea have not had a designated set-piece coach since Anthony Barry left for Bayern in April last year.
Mauricio Pochettino is understood to be in favour of appointing Cueva, who will join the Blues after the end of the season.r
