Chelsea take exciting Nigerian youngster on trial — Raheem Sterling key to the deal
Chelsea have brought 18-year-old Nigerian striker Hafiz Umar Ibrahim on trial with the deal facilitated by Raheem Sterling’s involvement in the process.
According to the Evening Standard, Ibrahim will undergo a two-week trial at Cobham after arranging a visa and conversing with Sterling via video call.
Previously, he trialed at Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt before catching Chelsea’s attention due to the club’s focus on scouting talent from African academies.
Ibrahim is anticipated to join partner club Strasbourg, following his standout performance at the Viareggio Cup, where he scored 10 goals in six matches.
