Phoenix Suns to sign free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas
Free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas is set to return to the NBA as he is expected to sign with the Phoenix Suns, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
An 11-year NBA veteran and two-time NBA all-star, Thomas will return to the league after two years as a free agent. He recently signed with the Utah Jazz’s G-League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, where he averaged 33 points on 45% shooting across four games.
The 5-foot-9 Thomas, who is expected to sign a 10-day contract, will provide veteran leadership and additional depth at the point guard position for the Suns.
The Suns are currently in a tight Western Conference playoff race, with a 39-28 record.
