David Beckham does not celebrate Lionel Messi’s goal against Los Angeles Galaxy — but why?

Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba teamed to create a magnificent moment that prevented an agonising tie in Inter Miami’s visit to Los Angeles Galaxy.

Even when it appeared like everything was gone and the Florida team would lose, Messi proved that you can never count anything out until the very end. The Argentine equalised in stoppage time to tie the game at one, according to Marca.

Fans who had travelled from California to see Messi were ecstatic, and in the Inter Miami suite, everyone was praising their captain for yet another accomplishment.

However, David Beckham remained seated during the celebrations, acting as though he were a player who had scored a goal against his old team and then apologised.

Though he didn’t go that far, the Inter co-owner seemed to want to show his gratitude to the Galaxy, the team he played for from 2007 to 2012 and won two MLS Cups with.

His sons, Brooklyn and Cruz, were in the box at Dignity Health Sports Park, along with celebrities Liv Tyler and Edward Norton. While everyone was celebrating Messi’s amazing strike, Beckham maintained his composure despite the significance of his captain’s goal.

Luis Suarez left the pitch on 67 minutes to make room for Leonardo Campana, and eight minutes later, the Galaxy used their speed to launch a counterattack in which Dejan Joveljic kicked the ball into the goal, which was delayed by VAR. It appeared as though Inter Miami was having trouble.

As Inter flooded forward, Lionel Messi nearly tied the score in the 89th minute when he got possession of the ball off Sergio Busquets’ boot and fired a left-footed drive that narrowly missed McCarthy’s goal.
